This poetic quotation, excerpted to promote ‘the spirit that is built into Meadowbrook Park’, was prominently featured in 1960 advertising to spur interest in this charming mid-century neighborhood. Developed by noted builder Ray Anderson, the spacious ‘executive homes’ of the neighborhood boasted a variety of innovative, modern touches, including built-in stereo speakers and intercoms, heated, Italian tile swimming pools and the amenities of Westinghouse’s ‘Kitchen of Tomorrow,’ featuring a robot appliance center. Although offered in a handful of floor plans, Meadowbrook Park homes were individually finished in an array of materials and popular motifs, including modern split-levels, Western ranch ramblers and Early American styles. 

Today, with its impeccably maintained houses, expansive level lots, mature plantings, running creek and winding, curbed lanes and cul-de-sacs, Meadowbrook Park continues to evoke the spirit once attributed to Stevenson and capture the essence of a classic era in suburban American living.
